Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin received Zdob si Zdub in audience today. Voronin announced that all support will be given in order to create a successful Moldovan performance at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. Zdob si Zdub are the first musicians to represent the Moldovan republic at the contest.

President Voronin emphasized that “this is not only a matter of the group's prestige. This is first and foremost a matter of Moldova's international image.” He stated that the Moldovan leadership stands ready to ensure all necessary organisational and financial support to Zdob si Zdub. The group should become an envoy of the Moldovan culture at the contest that will gather aspirants from 38 European states.

In the meanwhile Zdob si Zdub said that they are ready to give a successful performance in Kyiv. They hope to be among the best 10, which will ensure Moldova the right to compete in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest final. President Vladomir Voronin voiced the hope that Moldova's Eurovision Song Contest debut would be successful.

Zdob si Zdub take part in the semifinal of the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Boonika bate toba.
