The 1960’s pop and fashion icon, French singer Françoise Hardy, who represented the Principality of Monaco at the 1963 Eurovision Song Contest in London , will be releasing the second single from her latest album L’amour fou on 21 January.

The new single is titled Rendez-vous dans une autre vie, and follows the very melancholic song Pourquoi vous ?,with which the popular singer signed a critically acclaimed comeback under the spotlights two years after the success of the album La pluie sans parapluie.

Since its release back in November, the album L’amour fou has sold more than 70,000 copies, which is rather a very good achievement for such a discreet artist who has not performed at any concert since the end of the 1960’s, considering the current crisis hitting the French music industry. Françoise Hardy has teamed up with some of the best French songwriters in order to release this album, penning most of the lyrics herself. Her songs and lyrics depict the darkness, fears and the references to death and oblivion.

Thanks to her succesful comeback, Françoise Hardy has been nominated for two awards, Best Female Artist and Album of the Year, at the forthcoming Victoires de la Musique Awards (French music awards) scheduled to be held on 8 February.
