DR, the Danish national broadcaster has revealed the names of the 10 candidates that will compete at the 2013 Danish Eurovision national final Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. A special press conference was held at DR Byen to officially present the artists, composers and the songs that will battle for golden ticket to Malmo.
The beautiful and charming DMGP hostesses Louise Wolff and Lise Rønne and Sofie Lassen-Kahlke were in charge of moderating today’s press confeference and hence introduce the competing acts.The 2013 Danish Eurovision national final is scheduled to be held at the Boxen Arena in Herning on 26 January. The Danish candidates:
1. Frederikke Vedel- Jeg har hele tiden vidst det
2. Brinck – Human
3. Kate Hall – I am not alone
4. Louise Dubiel– Rejs dig op
5. Daze – We Own the Universe
6. Simone Egeriis – Awake
7. Jack Rowan featuring Sam Gray– Invincible
8. Emmelie de Forest- Only Teardrops
9. Albin– Beautiful to Me
10. Mohamed –Unbreakable
Among the candidates Eurovision fans will be familiar with Brink who represented Denmark in 2009 at the Eurovision Song Contest. Thomas G.sson the man behind the 2012 Swedish winning entry Euphoria will also be competing in the Danish national final as he’s behind Daze’s entry We own the universe. Thomas G.sson has been selected to compose the 2013 Georgian Eurovision entry.
Kato, Lis Sørensen, Cutfather, Maria Lucia and Jørgen de Mylius will be the 5 members of the 2013 Danish Eurovision national final jury. All jury members are experts hailing from the Danish musical industry. The 2013 Danish representative will be selected via a 50/50 jury and public voting deliberation. Hence the above mentioned jury members will play a key role in the selection of the Danish representative, both in the first round of the final where the competing 10 songs will be shortlisted to 3 and during the second round, the so called super final (3 songs will battle for the golden ticket to Malmo).
For the first time ever 3 women will have the honour of hosting the Danish Melodi Grand Prix. Well known and celebrated Danish television hosts Louise Wolff and Lise Rønne and actress Sofie Lassen-Kahlke will welcome viewers at the Jyske Bank Boxen Arena in Herning.
