Today in Paris, Marie Myriam, the last French Eurovision Song Contest winner back in 1977, presented the French edition of the Eurovision Song Contest book 50th anniversary – The Official History.
The French edition of the official 50th Anniversary Eurovision Song Contest book was launched in one of the Maxi-Livres stores in Paris. Marie Myriam, who wrote a special foreword in the book, attended the release happening. The last French Eurovision Song Contest winner will also appear in several TV specials featuring the release of the book.
Marie Myriam declared that when she won the contest in 1977 with the song L'oiseau et l'enfant, she didn't know that the victory would stick to her that way, in a positive way. Talking about her experiences as godmother of Jonatan Cerrada, last year's French representative, she said that she keeps excellent memories of the contest and of Istanbul.
Marie Myriam announced that a new compilation of her past material will be on the market in June. Talking about the Eurovision Song Contest, she also revealed that she would gladly be a commentator for France if they would invite her to do so.
