Dima Bilan performs at the Pesnya Goda 2012 Festival

Dima Bilan, the 2008 Russian Eurovision winner, peformed at the 2012 Pesnya Goda Festival in Moscow. Dima won the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest with his song Believe in Belgrade.

Today Dima is among the most sought after Russian artists, both at home in Russia and neighbouring countries. The Russian artist has won the MTV Best  Russian Act many times and has won many music awards at home .Dima has had a very busy and hectic schedule during the Christmas holidays as he has been invited to perform at  many Christmas and New Year concerts and festivals in Russia, all of which have been aired on various Russian television channels (Channel 1 Russia, RTR 1, RU TV, Music Box Russia, etc)during the festive season.

Pesnya Goda 2012 (Song of the Year 2012) festival was held on 1 December at the Moscow Olympic Stadium in Moscow last year. This is an annual event that is held every December and aired on television during the first days of the new year. Many former Eurovision artists participated in the last edition: Dima Bilan( Russia 2006, 2008), Yulia Savicheva (Russia 2004), Alsou ( Russia 2000), Ani Lorak ( Ukraine 2008), Verka Serduchka ( Ukraine 2007). Famous russian acts such as Sergey Lazarev, Valeria, DJ Timati, etc. also graced the stage. Internationally acclaimed Lara Fabian(Luxembourg 1988) treated the audience with a graceful performance of J’ataime encore.

Dima has represented Russia twice at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006 with Never let you go (2nd) and in 2008 with Believe (1st), he attempted to come back to the contest in 2012 when he competed at the Russian 2012 Eurovision national final in duet with Yulia Volkova (Ex tAtU- Russia 2003) with the song Back to her future. The duo were beaten by none other than the Russian golden girls Buranovkiye Babushki!
