On Lauras homepage she is described as “a rising star in the Lithuanian pop music arena, is a dynamic young woman with glowing eyes filled with passion and sexuality all wrapped up in a veil of secrecy! Her charismatic voice is filled with a unique blend of European pop/rock mystique. Music has been Lauras passion since childhood.

Interested as we are to find out more about this young and dynamic Lithuanian woman, esctoday.com made an interview with Laura. We talked about how she became an artist, her musical influences and who her lovers are. About her Eurovision experience she says “I just hope that this is not a dream from which I must one day wake up!

First of all, who is Laura?

I am a normal young modern Lithuanian who is looking to the future for good prospects and above all a happy life.

How would you describe yourself as an artist?

I have been singing all my life. I grew up with classical and jazz music but started singing Rock when I was about 18. This is my first experience with Pop and Eurovision.

How come you started singing? Were your parents important for your choice of career?

Nobody in my family is a musician. I just started to sing when I was very small and everyone realised that I could sing. There was nothing in particular which made me start singing. It just was a part of my growing up.

Can you mention some important music influences? The homepage mentions a lot of names, it seems that you are a lot into rock, metall and also jazz?

From the start I was influenced by classical composers such as Beethoven, Mozart and Bach etc. Then as time went by I became interested in Jazz and was inspired by Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holliday and in particular by a Swedish accapella group called the REAL GROUP. Then I started getting interested in rock music and pop rock and some of my favourite bands are Swedish Kent and The Cardigans and Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Do you have other interests than music?

I like movies but in particular European films. I also love to travel. I have been in many European countries. I am a very active person. I like mountain climbing, canoeing and outdoor activities. I also am interested in fashion and design.

For some of the male readers of esctoday.com do you have company or are you single currently?

I am currently single but I am constantly falling in love!!!
