Zdob si Zdub, the band that will be representing Moldova at its first Eurovision Song Contest participation, is looking for sponsors to facilitate the travel of Lidia Bejenaru, the main character in their song Boonika bate toba (Grandma beats the drums).

In the meanwhile the 52 year-old Lidia Bejenaru has been invited to take part in the shootings of a brand new video clip and in photo sessions to promote their Eurovision Song Contest entry Boonika bate toba.

The six members of Zdob si Zdubs, Roman Yagupov, Mihai Gincu, Pugaci Anatol, Victor Dandes, Valeriu Mazilu and Igor Buzurniuc, are even considering to let Grandma join them on stage during their semifinal performance in Kiev. However, one of the band members will have to be sacrificed then since the Eurovision Song Contest rules allow no more than six performers on stage.

Will Grandma beat the Moldovan drums in Kiev? As soon as we know more we will keep you up to date.
