The You're A Star in-store signing, originally scheduled to take place last Monday in Dublin (Ireland), has been cancelled.

The new You're A Star album, due to be released, features tracks from seven of the show's finalists, with songs previously recorded by The Killers, The White Stripes, Scissors Sisters, Avril Lavigne, Elvis Presley and Bill Withers.

Two original tracks from Áine O'Doherty and Jade have been included on the album, which also features five karaoke tracks.

Meanwhile, in the Irish Independent newspaper, Shay Healy, whose song What's another year of whom with Johnny Logan won the contest in 1980, says “this year's entry doesn't stand a chance”. He criticises the 'McCauls' by saying: “…unfortunately for him, he still looks like a nice lad who may be waiting a while yet for his first kiss. And Donna? She looks like his innocent sister.”

In closing part of his article he says: “It is more fitting to wish Donna and Joseph well than to slag them off, so I sincerely wish them well…But if I have to put my opinion on the line…they are going to the wrong place, at the wrong time, with the wrong song”.

However, the three You're A Star series have enjoyed strong ratings with the final results show on Sunday, March 6th pulling in 916,000 viewers a 62.5% share – the most impressive performance by any RTÉ programme in 2005 so far.
