As esctoday.com had been informed yesterday morning, 2B will represent Portugal at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. It however remained unclear who 2B was. Portuguese news paper Diaria de Noticias showed up with the names of Rui Drumond and Luciana. The Greek Head of Delegation confirmed these names to Oikotimes.com.

For weeks, there was no information at all about RTP's selection procedure for their 2005 Eurovision Song Contest representative. An Operação Triunfo participant going solo? Dana International? Was Portugal withdrawing? In the end Portugal will be represented by 2B.

2B consists of Rui Drumond and Luciana. Rui Drumond competed in the first edition of Operação Triunfo. Luciana participated in the second edition of Idols. Rui and Luciana will perform the song Amare, written by Jose da Ponte, Alexandre Honrado and Ernesto Leite.

Portugal takes part in the semifinal of the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest on 19th May in Kiev.
