France selects its representative for the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest tonight. Five participants, proposed by five different record companies, will compete to represent France in Kiev. Last night the finalists were introduced to the audience.

Last night…
In documentary style, the French selection procedure was introduced and the five finalists presented their vocal abilities by performing former Eurovision Song Contest entries. These are the songs they chose:

Christophe Héraut | Alain Barrière – Elle était si jolie
Marjorie Galluccio | France Gall – Poupée de cire, poupée de son
Ortal | Natasha St-Pier – Je n'ai que mon âme
Lionel Tim | Guy Mardel – N'avoue jamais
Karine Trecy | Céline Dion – Ne partez pas sans moi

This is the running order for tonight's French final:

1. Lionel Tim – Je m'envole (Universal)
2. Ortal – Chacun pense à soi (Warner)
3. Christophe Héraut – C'est la vie (BG Productions)
4. Marjorie Galluccio – Casting (EMI)
5. Karine Trecy – Laissez-moi rêver (BMG)

The French final will be broadcast live on France 3 as of 20:55 CET. A jury and televoting will decide who'll succeed the Belgian singer Jonatan Cerrada, who represented France last year in Istanbul.
