Melodifestivalen 2005 is over. Time for Swedish broadcaster SVT to start preparing the junior version Lilla Melodifestivalen 2005. Songs for the Swedish Junior Eurovision Song Contest can be submitted until 30th May.

Allthough Sweden belongs to the top countries at the Eurovision Song Contest, Sweden could not yet impress at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The Honeypies with Stoppa mig! in 2003 and Limelights with Varför jag last year in Lillehammer both finished 15th.

This year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Hasselt, Belgium, might turn the tide for Sweden. Children aged 8 up to 15 years can participate. Songs can be submitted until 30th May. Lilla Melodifestivalen 2005, the Swedish national junior final, will take place in October 2005.
