Omar Naber has won the Slovenian national final EMA 2005 and will represent Slovenia at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev. Together with Saa Lendero and Rebeka Dremelj he survived the first voting round. In the second voting round, he convinced the Slovenians to vote for his song Stop.

Guest performers in EMA 2005 were last year's Eurovision Song Contest winner Ruslana and eljko Joksimović. 100% televoting was used in EMA 2005. Before the show started, many people saw Nua Derenda, Saa Lendero, Omar Naber and Rebeka Dremelj as the favourites. The televoting viewers completely agreed on that.

Unfortunately for Nua Derenda, Slovenia's representative in the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest, only the top 3 of the first televoting round proceeded to the second round. In the first round, won by Rebeka Dremelj, Nua Derenda finished 4th. Find the complete televoting results of the first round on esctoday.com's Slovenian pages by clicking here.

In the second televoting round the final decision was made. These are the results of the Slovenian national final EMA 2005:

1 – 29945 votes | Omar Naber – Stop
2 – 27825 | Saa Lendero – Metulj
3 – 23514 votes | Rebeka Dremelj – Pojdi z menoj

Omar Naber will represent Slovenia in the semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest on 19th May in Kiev. Last year the 23 year-old talent from Ljubljana won Bitka talentov (Battle of talents), a talent show integrated in a Sunday primetime family show on RTV SLO1.
