Spanish broadcaster TVE has officially announced its plans for the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. TVE earlier invited all Spanish record companies to submit entries, including song ánd singer, to the Spanish selections. A semifinal will take place on 25th February. The Spanish national final is scheduled for 11th March.

TVE is preparing two TV shows: one semifinal and a final. The semifinal will be held on 25th February. Two weeks later, on 11th March, the Spanish national final will be held. Both shows will be aired on TVE La Primera. The audience will judge the songs by televoting.

TVE accepts well-known as well as new artists to compete in the selection process, as long as they acomplish the condition of the full package: song, singer and record company. Songs can be submitted until 10th February. TVE will select 15 up to 20 songs to participate in the semifinal.

Spain is directly qualified for the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, taking place on 21st May in Kiev.
