TVE will most probably organise two shows in order to select the Spanish representative for the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. The shows are currently scheduled for 25th and 4th March. Later this week, an official statement is expected.

Spanish record companies have been given the time till the end of next week to propose singers and songs to take part in the Spanish national selections for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. The current plans, to be confirmed later this week, include two shows.

Televoting will eliminate half of the songs taking part in the first show to be held on 25th February. The other half will participate in the second show, one week later on 4th March, in which the Spanish representative for Kiev will be selected.

The new format replaces Operación Triunfo, which was used for three years and selected Rosa, Beth and Ramón to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest.
