Alcazar to open, Katrina to close Melodifestivalen

Swedish broadcaster SVT has revealed the running order for the upcoming Swedish Eurovision Song Contest selections. Alcazar will open Melodifestivalen 2005 on 12th February in Göteborg. Katrina & The New Wave will be the last of 32 acts to perform, three weeks later in Växjö.

Earlier this week Swedish broadcaster SVT launched a restyled version of its Melodifestivalen website, which you can visit by clicking here. SVT now also revealed the running order of the upcoming Melodifestivalen 2005.

Alcazar will have the honour to open Melodifestivalen 2005 on 12th February in Göteborg with the song Alcastar. The first semifinal will be closed by last year's runner-up Shirley Clamp who'll sing Att älska dig.

On 5th March in Växjö Katrina & The New Wave will be the last to perform in the Melodifestivalen semifinals with the song As if tomorrow will never come. The complete running order can be found on esctoday.com's Swedish pages by clicking here .

On 6th March, a second chance round will take place. On 12th March Sweden will decide who'll succeed Lena Philipsson as their next Eurovision Song Contest representative.
