Latvia held its first semifinal tonight. Ten participants competed for five places in the final of Eirodziesma 2005. Prego (pictured), Nicol, Iedomu sparni, Ella & Marizio and Flash have qualified for the Latvian final.
The three songs with the highest amount of televotes proceeded to the final of Eirodziesma 2005. A professional jury added two more songs to join them to the final. These are the results of the first Latvian semifinal:

The Latvian TV viewers saw prerecorded performances of the ten songs competing in the first semifinal of Eirodziesma 2005 and were able to televote for ten minutes. Audio files of the participating songs are available on LRT's website by clicking here.
Latvia will hold two semifinals. The next semifinal will be broadcast on the 5th February. The final of Eirodziesma 2005 takes place on 26th February and will be held in the city of Ventspils.
