Second try for Anna Stenlund in Finland

Last year's runner-up in the Finnish national final, Anna Stenlund, is trying her luck once again tonight in the second heat of Finland's 2005 Eurovision Song Contest selections. Her second bid however started bad back in November, as her entry I can't believe it appeared to be a cover of a song by Friends, one day before the announcement of the selected participants in Finland.

Anna Stenlund will sing the pop ballad One more chance tonight, a song that sounds more Finnish than the one she sang last year. Stenlund saw her entry disqualified the day before the announcement of the songs selected for the Finnish national finals.

Stenlund had submitted the song I can't believe it written by Patrick Linman and Ola Larsson. However, this song had already appeared in the version of Friends (Sweden 2001 – Listen to your heartbeat) on their album Best of Friends, released in 2003. Stenlund was then offered a new song written by Sipe Santapukki and was given 24 hours to confirm whether she would accept to sing the song, which she did.

These are the six participants at tonight's Finnish semifinal, held in Jyväskylä:

Christian Forss – Everything but still nothing
Geir Rönning & Nina Tapio – My one and only love
Sanna Majuri – Just one kiss
Kimmo Kouri – My life, my love
Anna Stenlund – One more chance
 Momocat – Europa Europa

Three of them will be selected to proceed to the Finnish national final, taking place in Tampere on 19th February.
