Bosnian-Swedish artist Don Almir has written a song aimed for the Bosnian national selection. If the song is chosen for participation, two music veterans from Sweden will join him on stage in Bosnia. No less than the legendary Ådahl brothers, once participants for Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Don Almir or Almir Ajanovic has revealed to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet that he has written a song aimed for the national selection in Bosnia & Herzegovina. Co-writers of the song are his former music schoolteachers Simon Ådahl and Jonas Strömberg. If Don Almirs song is selected to Bosnian final – he will also let his friends, Simon Ådahl and his brother Frank Ådahl accompany him on stage in Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Simon and Frank Ådahl formed the group Edin-Ådahl together with the two Edin brothers. They managed to win over famous Carola in the Swedish Melodifestivalen 1990 with the song Som en vind and therefore become Swedens representative that year in the Eurovision Song Contest in Zagreb, Croatia, ending on 16th place.
Don Almir,is a Bosnian artist from Sarajevo, but since many years living in the small town of Gävle in Sweden. He is so far quite unknown in Sweden but in Bosnia & Herzegovina he has has scored a major hit in Bosnia with songs from his album Moja dusa bosanska”, “My Bosnian soul. Don Almir has just received a Bosnian Grammy award, or Oscar as best newcomer.
The songs participating in Bosnian & Herzegovinas national selection will be revealed on January 21st. The final will be held on the 6th of March. Thanks to Deens 9th place last year in Istanbul, Bosnia & Herzegovina is directly qualified for the final in Eurovision Song Contest.
