Philippe Lafontaine, who represented Belgium at the 1990 Eurovision Song Contest, has lost control of himself, the Belgian newspaper Het laatste nieuws reported that today.

In the final days of December 2004 Philippe Lafontaine threatened to set his house on fire. His son, who saw his father losing control of himself, warned the local police of the Montgomery zone in Brussels.

Lafontaine was taken to a hospital where he spent a night for observation and his condition has now improved. According to the singer who represented Belgium at the 1990 Eurovision Song Contest, the year 2004 was a year to forget as soon as possible and things had run out of hand.

Philippe Lafontaine finished 12th at the 1990 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Macédomienne.
