Folkloristic Schlager band De Randfichten (Dr Holzmichl) is one of the 16 participants of Stefan Raab's Bundesvision Song Contest, a miniature version of the European competition with German contestants only, to be held 12 February 2005. Other names include Juli, Deichkind and rap artist Sido.

TV show host Stefan Raab, who participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2000 (Wadde hadde dudde da) and composed the German entries of 1998 (Guildo Horn's Guildo hat Euch lieb) and 2004 (Max's Can't wait until tonight) is organising a small version of the contest in Germany, where artists from each of the country's 16 states compete against each other. Newspaper taz today exclusively revealed the names of ten of the 16 participants. The list reads as follows:

Bavaria: Slut
Berlin: Sido with DJ Tomekk
Brandenburg: Virgina Jetzt
Hamburg: Samy Deluxe
Hesse: Juli
Mecklenburg-West Pomerania: Deichkind
Lower Saxony: Mousse T.
Schleswig-Holstein: Fettes Brot
Saarland: Klee
Saxony: De Randfichten

These participants were found through radio competitions in their own states and will now compete in a televised final on 12 February 2005. From 10 January 2005, they and the other (still to be announced) six participants will present their songs – all to be sung in German – in Raab's TV-show TV Total.

The Bundesvision Song Contest is not to be mixed up with the official German preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest, Germany 12 Points!, which will take place 12 March 2005 in Berlin.
