The polls, and the bookies, we already wrote about them today. Now it's time to look back at them. Were they right?
The webmasters
Three out of nine webmasters gave their 12 points to Spain, which was their favourite. Four of them gave their 10 points to Spain. The rest of the webmasters' vote was totally different from the actual televoting.
The bookies
Bet365 predicted Spain and the United Kingdom to win. With Spain actually winning and the UK finishing second, they did a good prediction of the first two places. The rest of the list is mostly wrong.
EuroPrediction
The EuroPrediction, a poll organised by our partners at oikotimes.com, was mostly right in the top-five. Spain on the first place with 188 points, Romania second with 162 points and United Kingdom 3rd with 130 points came quite close to the actual result. The rest of the poll is mostly different from the televoting.
To conclude, we can say that most sources predict the first two or three places (almost) right, just like with the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest. Ruslana was predicted to win by many, Serbia & Montenegro to end up second. The rest is, just like with this year's Eurovision Song Contest, mostly wrong. Better luck next year ;).
