SVT will give priority to female songwriters when awarding the jokers, the four remaining spots in the Swedish national selections. Of the 28 songs for Melodifestivalen 2005 that have already been announced a couple of weeks ago, only few were composed by female composers.

Therefore Swedish broadcaster SVT announced that they will give preference to female composers when awarding the four remaining places in Melodifestivalen 2005, the so called jokers. The performers of the jokers should preferably be female and sing in Swedish.

Female Swedish composers now get another three weeks time and can submit their songs for Melodifestivalen 2005 until 22nd November 2004.
