Today MKRTV, the national broadcaster of FYR Macedonia, presented the details for the Macedonian selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2005. The song for Kiev will be selected in three rounds. As OGAE Macedonia informed us, the final will probably take place on 19th February 2005.

The selection will exist of three rounds. In the first round sixteen professionals from the music industry will each select their eight favourite performers. Out of that list, a top six will be selected.

In the second round MKRTV will organize a TV show in which these six performers will be presented to the public. A televoting and professional jury (50% each) will select the best two candidates for the third and last round: the final.

In the final, which will probably be held in the Universal Hall in Skopje on 19th February 2005, the two finalists will perform four songs each. Both finalists will sing three songs selected through an open competition for authors and one song written by their own team of composers, lyricists and arrangers.

Furthermore a televoting will be held in order to choose the language in which FYR Macedonia will be represented in Kiev. MKRTV also announced that they will not shoot a video clip for the winning song and send in the video material from the Macedonian selection instead.
