A third scandal is about to overshadow the national Junior Eurovision Song Contest selections. After the doubts about the Swiss selection procedure and the disqualification of the first semi final winner in Belgium, the parents of the Cypriot finalists threaten with taking legal action against Cypriot broadcaster CyBC.

According to the parents of the Cypriot junior finalists, winner Marios Tofis was not allowed to participate in the contest. “Even though they knew that Marios Tofis had released an own CD for sale in record stores, CyBC approved the participation of the kid.”

The rules of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest clearly say that the child artists must never have performed a solo, lead role or supporting role on a professionally-produced CD or be professionally represented in any way before or during their national contest.

The parents of the Cypriot finalists are furious and collecting information to take legal actions against CyBC.
