Yesterday, the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet published a story about the 50th birthday show of the Eurovision Song Contest, which is being produced by the BBC. During the show, the audience can select the best Eurovision song ever… according to Aftonbladet!

Esctoday.com spoke with Svante Stockselius, Supervisor of the contest at the European Broadcasting Union: “To be honest, this is merely speculations. Nothing has been decided yet regarding the content of the show. We have, of course, discussed several ideas and one of them is to find the best song of all 50 years, decided by televoting”, he explains. “But how this will be practically done – original artists on stage, archive footage – is not defined yet. That will be a discussion in close cooperation with the host broadcaster of this special show”, he added.

The EBU and the BBC want to produce a show with many classic television memories from past times, but on the other hand, they'd like to produce a modern and updates television entertainment show.
