The British national final for this year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest takes place on the 4th of September. An ITV spokesperson told that to our colleagues of Oikotimes.com.

Eight songs will be selected by an internal commission. The UK representative for this year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which takes place in Lillehammer, Norway, will be chosen by televoting.

Initially, ITV was selected by the European Broadcasting Union to organise the second junior contest, but because of financial issues and schedule problems, ITV had to withdraw from orgnising the show. After Croatia, the winner of the first contest, couldn't find a suitable venue, the Norwegian broadcaster NRK got the responsibility.
