On Tuesday night 29th June Eurojunior Festival 2004 kicks off on Spanish broadcaster TVE. Five galas, hosted by Carlos Lozano, will take place to select the Spanish representative for the second Junior Eurovision Song Contest, taking place in Lillehammer on 20th November.

From 29th June on, Spanish broadcaster TVE searches for the Spanish representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest during five galas. The night before, on Monday 28th June, Spanish channel La2 already shows the first images of the castings and the final selections of the second edition of Eurojunior Festival.

3.000 Spanish children aged 8 to 15 submitted a song and participated at one of the castings organised in 12 Spanish cities in March and April. 150 of them proceded to the second round of the casting that took place in April and May. Only 80 qualified for the final round of the casting and entered La academia on 19th June for three days filled with sing and dance tests.

In the end 48 children have been chosen to participate at the 5 Tuesday evening galas. Guest performers in each of those galas are “3+2”, a group formed by participants of last year's Eurojunior Festival edition.

Spain was runner-up at last year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen. Sergio sang Desde el cielo to the second spot.
