Junior: More than 1400 songs submitted in Sweden

Swedish broadcaster SVT received more than 1400 songs for Lilla Melodifestivalen 2004, the show in which the Swedish participant for the 2004 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be chosen. Lilla Melodifestivalen 2004 takes place on 9th October and will be hosted by Mela Tesfazion and Magnus Carlsson.

June 10th was the deadline for submitting songs for Lilla Melodifestivalen 2004 , the junior equivalent of Melodifestivalen in which the Swedish representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, taking place in Zagreb, will be chosen. More than 1400 songs have been submitted. A professional jury will select the best 10 to participate in Lilla Melodifestivalen 2004 on 9th October.

The show will be hosted by Mela Tesfazion, TV personality on SVT's children channel, and Magnus Carlsson, triple Melodifestivalen participant with Barbados in 2000, 2001 and 2002 and one of last year's finalists as new member of the Swedish band Alcazar.

Last year Honeypies reached the 15th place for Sweden with the song Stoppa mig! at the first Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, Denmark.
