This Wednesday, Germany's Eurovision representative Max was awarded with a golden record for selling more than 150,000 copies of the single Just can't wait until tonight. Max' song topped the German charts for three weeks in a row right after its release and still holds a top ten position. In total, 200,000 copies of the song were sold to date.

Max has been out of the limelight for a while, focusing on his A-levels. “I feel a bit tired and done now, because I put a lot of pressure on me”, the singer said to news agency dpa after his first after-exam TV appearance at Stefan Raab's show TV Total this week. In the programme, Raab revealed that there will be special editions of his TV show, called Istanbul total, during the Eurovision week. The shows, promising to include performances of some of Turkey's biggest entertainment stars, are going to be produced in TRT's studios in Istanbul.

Meanwhile, female singer Nicole, Germany's only Eurovision winner to date, gave a not-too-optimistic comment about Max' chances: “I cannot imagine that today, somebody could score while sleeping for three minutes on his stool”. Nicole, who sat on a stool during her winning performance in 1982 herself, nevertheless admitted that Max “has a real good voice”.
