Australia is showing a huge interest in the Eurovision Song Contest this year. Unlike in France, Russia and Poland, the Eurovision qualifier round will be broadcast downunder. Besides, Australian broadcaster SBS will show countdown specials the week before the Eurovision Song Contest.

Australian broadcaster SBS will again be televising the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, which occurs in Istanbul on Saturday 15th May this year. The show goes to air on Sunday 16th May local time.

SBS will also be showing the night of preliminary rounds on Friday 14th May, but there's even more to look forward to in the lead up to the big concerts. Eurovision fans can look forward to a week of half hour countdown specials hosted by Eurovision guru Des Mangan. He'll be joined by special guests each night to take a closer look at all of the competing countries.

More details will be available on SBS's eurovision website as Eurovision fever gets closer.
