The British broadcaster BBC received more than 550 songs for Song For Europe, the British national final.

Between now and December, publishers, songwriters and label professionals will pick aut approximately 20 songs for the national final.

It is not year clear in what way the UK will choose their song. “I believe the BBC haven't quite made up their mind on how that will work, but a decision should be made in early December”, Mathew Hiscock of the BBC said to ESCOL.

The UK needs a good song after disappointed years at the contest. The past two contests, the UK ended up much lower than expected.
