One of the group members of Voice Male, the backing group of Bas & Joel, had a heart attack last night. The manager of Bas & Joel, Erik Dikeb, said that backstage today. Bas & Joel will perform the song Celeste tonight during the second semifinal of the Nationaal Songfestival 2004.
The 34-year old backing vocal Jan Bervoets is now at the intensive care department of a hospital in Antwerp.
Bas & Joel are concerned about their backing vocal. As Voice Male is a six-member group, one of the other members of the group went to Amsterdam to be present at the rehearsals.
