Vietnamese broadcaster VTV has officially confirmed that popular singer Tóc Tiên will represent Vietnam at the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026. This highly anticipated announcement sets the stage for Vietnam’s debut in the new continental competition, scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Thailand.
Following much media speculation, Vietnam Television (VTV) has internally selected renowned singer Tóc Tiên to be the nation’s first representative at the Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026. The 37-year-old artist is a prominent figure in the contemporary Vietnamese music scene, known for her distinctive style and energetic performances.
Tóc Tiên has a string of hit songs and has cemented her profile through numerous television programs, including coaching roles on The Voice of Vietnam and serving as a judge on Vietnam Idol Kids. In 2017, she earned the Best Asian Artist award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards.
While the artist has been confirmed, the song Tóc Tiên will perform in Bangkok is yet to be revealed. VTV will utilise a national selection show titled “The Sound of Vietnam” to choose her entry. The final of this selection process is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, and will be broadcast live.
The inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026 is set to debut on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at IdeaLive in Bangkok, Thailand. Organised by Voxovation under licence from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and produced by S2O Productions, with Thailand’s Channel 3 as the host broadcaster, the contest will feature representatives from eleven countries across the Asia-Pacific region. The winner will be decided by a 50/50 split of professional jury voting and public voting.
