Maltese music talents Miriana Conte, who represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, and Mychael Bartolo Chircop, a participant in MESC 2026, have joined forces to release their brand new single, ‘WHAT THE HELENA?’. The dynamic collaboration is an exciting new offering from the two artists, blending their distinct styles into a fresh track.
Miriana Conte, known for her powerful performance representing Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with ‘Serving‘, and Mychael Bartolo Chircop, a notable contestant in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest (MESC) 2026, have released their highly anticipated duet, ‘WHAT THE HELENA?‘. The song officially dropped on August 7, 2026, generating buzz among fans and critics alike.
The track is described as an intriguing dance-pop offering with a rocky, sexy, and pop edge, featuring an instantly catchy chorus. Its quirky electro-pop sound is complemented by a unique prison-themed aesthetic in its accompanying visuals. Lyrically, ‘WHAT THE HELENA?‘ tells an energetic and playful story of two people who discover they have both been dating the same woman, Helena.
The collaboration sees both artists bringing their signature sounds to the forefront, with Mychael’s deeper, rockier vocals perfectly complementing Miriana’s pop and dance sensibilities. The song was a joint writing effort by Miriana Conte and Mychael Bartolo Chircop, alongside acclaimed producer and lyricist Peter Borg, and Matt Muxu Mercieca. Mercieca is notably known for his work on Miriana’s Eurovision 2025 entry ‘SERVING KANT’ and her previous MESC track ‘Venom’.
