The Association of Bulgarian Tour Operators and Travel Agents (ABTTA) has officially endorsed Sofia’s bid to host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027, asserting that the capital possesses all the necessary conditions to organise one of Europe’s premier music events. This significant backing highlights Sofia’s readiness and potential as a host city for the prestigious contest.
Sofia’s ambition to host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027 has received a significant boost with official backing from the Association of Bulgarian Tour Operators and Travel Agents (ABTTA).
In a recent statement, the ABTTA expressed strong confidence in Sofia’s capability to successfully stage one of Europe’s largest and most watched music events. The organisation underscored several key advantages that make the Bulgarian capital a compelling candidate for the prestigious contest.
Among the highlighted strengths are Sofia’s robust international transport links, ensuring easy accessibility for delegations, fans, and media from across the continent. The city also boasts modern infrastructure, capable of supporting a large-scale event, alongside extensive hotel capacity to accommodate the thousands of visitors expected for Eurovision.
Furthermore, the ABTTA pointed to Sofia’s proven track record in hosting major international events, demonstrating its organisational prowess and readiness for an undertaking of Eurovision’s magnitude. This collective endorsement from the tourism sector reinforces Sofia’s bid, positioning it as a strong contender in the race to become the host city for Eurovision 2027.

Sofia and Burgas have been shortlisted as the two candidate cities in the final leg of the Eurovision 2027 Host City race. BNT, the Bulgarian national broadcaster and the EBU are expected to reveal the ESC 2027 dates and host city by the end of this week.
