CT, the Czech national broadcaster, has confirmed that Czechia will not compete at the forthcoming 2027 Eurovision Song Contest in Bulgaria.

Thus Czechia  joins the list of countries who have so far confirmed their non- participation at the 2027 Eurovision edition in Bulgaria.

CT has confirmed its withdrawal from Eurovision 2027. Eurovision fans will be dismayed with this news as they will not see Czechia competing at the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 in Burgas.

CT’s statement reads:

We know how much the Eurovision Song Contest means to all of us. That’s why we want to thank all of our Czech representatives, and most of all, you – our fans – for every vote, every comment, every bit of support, and for being there with us.

In 2027, we won’t see the Czech flag on the Eurovision stage. But we’ll still be cheering for the others, and we hope to see you at the Eurovision Song Contest again someday

Czechia in Eurovision

Czechia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 with  Kabat and is yet to win the competition. The country achieved its best result in the contest in 2018 when Mikolas Josef placed 6th in Lisbon with his song Lie to me.

The Czechs have partaken in Europe’s favorite television show 14 times, out of which they have only qualified to the Grand Final six times, namely in 2016, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2026.

The central European land locked country has not been very lucky in the competition, after three consecutive years of poor results and non-qualification the Czechs withdrew from the contest in 2010 and returned back after a 5 year hiatus in 2016.

In 2026 Daniel Zizka represented Czechia with his epic entry ‘Crossroads’.
