RAI has officially revealed the dates for the 77th edition of the Festival di Sanremo, set to take place in 2027. Stefano De Martino, the newly appointed artistic director, announced the highly anticipated schedule via his social media, marking the official start of preparations for Italy’s most prestigious music festival.

Sanremo 2027 set for February

The 77th edition of the Festival di Sanremo will take place from Tuesday 16 February to Saturday 20 February 2027. The iconic five-night event will once again be held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, Liguria.

Stefano De Martino confirmed as Artistic Director

The announcement of the dates coincided with the official start of Stefano De Martino’s tenure as the host and artistic director for Sanremo 2027. His appointment was initially revealed by his predecessor, Carlo Conti, during the final night of the 2026 Festival. De Martino himself shared the news of the dates through a video posted on his Instagram profile.

Potential Eurovision Night for Italy?

Amidst the excitement, rumours are circulating regarding a significant change to the festival’s format. Reports suggest that the traditional Covers Night might be replaced with a dedicated “Eurovision night” on the fourth evening. This special evening would reportedly serve as the platform to officially select Italy’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027. While these reports have generated considerable discussion among fans, RAI has not yet issued any official confirmation regarding these potential changes to the 2027 format.
