Quite a few websites have reported that the Icelandic broadcaster RÚV selected Emilana Torrini, performing the song Morning Light made by the 1999 runner up Selma Björnsdóttir, for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest.

Esctoday.com has, however, contacted the Icelandic broadcaster and it has been told that this rumour is not true. Jóhanna Jóhannsdóttir of RÚV was in an entertained mood and said: “We like rumours like these! At least they show us that people are eager to be informed of the jury's final decision”.

There has been quite a delay of the jury's final decision, which was first to be announced in the first week of December. A final decision is now said to be reached later this week.
