Azerbaijan: Mamagama will fly to Basel!

Ictimai, the Azerbaijani national has unveiled the 2025 Azerbaijani Eurovision representative.

Mamagama will have the grand honour of representing Azerbaijan at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland.

Mamagama consists of three male members: Asaf, Huss and Arif.  The band was formed in 2021 and is now one of the most sought after acts in Azerbaijan.

The group’s lead singer Asaf says:

It’s an honourfor me to be representing Azerbaijan on such a big stage with our culture. I deeply love the land where I was born, and this is a chance to share its beauty and spirit with all of Europe. Our song, which will be revealed very soon, is a true representation of our country’s essence. We are incredibly excited and believe that our entry will leave a lasting impact.

The 2025 Azerbaijani Eurovision entry will be premiered in due course.

Ictimai has once again opted for an internal selection in order to determine the 2025 Azerbaijani Eurovision act and entry.

Thus Azerbaijan joins the list of countries who have so far selected their Eurovision 2025 representatives: Spain, Belgium, Slovenia, France, Albania, Cyprus, Greece, Albania, Netherlands, Austria, Israel, Montenegro, Luxembourg, and Czechia.

Azerbaijan in Eurovision

Azerbaijan debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 and has won the competition once, namely in 2012 with Eldar & Nikki‘s ‘Running Scared’. The following year the country welcomed the Eurovision bandwagon for the very first time in its majestic capital Baku.

The Caucasian nation has partaken in Europe’s favorite television show 16 times, having competed in the event every year since its debut in 2008.

Fahree feat. Ilkin Dovlatov represented Azerbaijan at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo with their entry ‘Ozunla Apar‘.
