ERT, the Greek national broadcaster has announced today that Greek mega star Sakis Rouvas and the ultimate Greek Goddess Helena Paparizou will host the forthcoming 2025 Greek national final and that the internationally acclaimed stage director Fokas Evangelinos will be the artistic director of the event.
ERT, the Greek national broadcaster, is working from strength to strength and round the clock to showcase an exciting and dazzling show at the end of the month!
Both Helena Paparizou and Sakis Rouvas have represented Greece twice and are considered as Eurovision royalty both at home in Greece and overseas!
Helena Paparizou has graced the Eurovision stage twice in 2001 when she was part of Antique placing 3rd in Copenhagen and in 2005 when she gave Greece its very first and only till date Eurovision triumph with her epic entry ‘My Number One’.
Sakis Rouvas has graced the ESC stage thrice ( 2 times as a singer and once as a host). Sakis placed 3rd at ESC 2004 in Istanbul with his mega hit ‘Shake It’ and placed 7th at ESC 2009 in Moscow with ‘This Is Our Night’. Rouvas co-hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006 in Athens.
The dynamic duo are all set to host the 2025 Greek national final on Thursday 30 January at the Christmas Theatre in Galatsi.
A total of 12 acts will be battling for the golden ticket to Eurovision 2025 at the Greek national final:
- Lost My Way – Andy Nicholas
- Sirens – BARBZ
- Valé (Βάλε) – Evangelia
- Unhurt me – Nafsika
- Odyssey – Dinamiss
- Free Love – Thanos Lambrou
- Elevator – Ricky (Ρίκι)
- Paradisos (Παράδεισος) – Constantinos Christoforou
- High Road – Georgina Kalais
- Play it – Xannova Xan
- Asteromata (Αστερομάτα) – Klavdia
- Gi mou (Γη Μου) – Kostas Ageris
The 2025 Greek Eurovision entry and act will be selected via a 50/50 public voting- jury (international/ national) deliberation. The jury will consist of 2 sets of juries (national and international), each jury will consist of five members.
The multi facetted Fokas Evangelinos will be the artistic director of the whole show and will add his Midas touch to the Greek national final. He has great experience and expertise when it comes to the Eurovision Song Conttest having worked with numerous acts and countries in the competition: Moldova, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Spain, Greece etc.
