AVROTROS, the Dutch national broadcaster, has confirmed that the Netherlands will compete at the 2026 Eurovision  Song Contest.

With the 2025 Eurovision  yet to be held, the Dutch have confirmed their participation at the Eurovision 2026 edition. AVROTROS, the Dutch national broadcaster has announced in a press release today that the song submission window for Eurovision 2026 will open on 1 August 2025.

Thus the Netherlands becomes the very first country to confirm its participation at ESC 2026.

AVROTROS has received 331 entries for Eurovision 2025. The song submission period for ESC 2025 is now closed. AVROTROS’s official press release reads:

331 songs! That is the result now that the registration for the Dutch entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 has closed on November 22 at 00:00.

A huge and fantastic number considering the short period that the registration was open and the extra conditions that were linked to an entry. Dutch, English but also other languages. Ballads, up tempo, rock. The selection committee has the nice task in the coming weeks to listen, discuss and determine which song and the associated artist(s) will go to Basel.

Registration for the Dutch entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 opens on August 1, 2025.
