Junior: Dutch and Belgian viewing figures

by Edwin van Gorp 308 views

1,066,000 Dutch people watched the Junior Eurovision Song Contest last Saturday. That is about 7.2% of the Dutch population and a market share of 15.5%. In Flemish-speaking Belgium 1.334.500 people watched the show – a market share of 52.6%!

Compared to the 'real' Eurovision Song Contest, which was watched by almost five million people in both countries this year, these figures can be called reasonable.

The Netherlands finished 11th in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song Mijn ogen zeggen alles (My eyes say everything), performed by Roel Felius. Belgium reached a 6th place with the song De vriendschapsband (The tie of friendship) by X!NK. No Flemish Eurovision entry has ever finished higher.
