Spain: Miki Nuñez to release his new single ‘Celébrate’ on 28 June

Miki Nuñez, the 2019 Spanish Eurovision hopeful, is set to release his new single ‘Celébrate’ this weekend.

Celébrate (Celebrate yourself) will be released by Universal Music Spain on Spotify on 28 June. 2019.

Miki Nuñez shot to Spain thanks to his participation in OT 2018. He won the 2019 Spanish national final and was awarded the golden ticket to Tel Aviv. He is currently busy touring Spain and working on his forthcoming debut album.

Miki represented Spain at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with his entry ‘La Venda‘, despite a magnificent performance he placed 22nd in the Grand Final. The Spanish staging in Tel Aviv was directed by the internationally acclaimed Greek stage director Fokas Evangelinos.

Spain in Eurovision

Spain debuted in Eurovision in 1961 and has won the competition twice (1968 and 1969). The country enjoyed much success in its early days, but now seems to have had a reverse in fortunes. We must not forget that Spain has not made it to the Top 5 since 1995.

Spain has not missed a single contest since it joined the competition in 1961, the country has competed 58 times in our beloved contest.

The Iberian country has only made it twice to the Top 10 in the last decade, namely in 2012 and 2014 with Pastora Soler and Ruth Lorenzo respectively.

Spain is yet to officially confirm its participation in Eurovision 2020 and unveil the mechanism it will use to select its Eurovision entry for the Netherlands.
