David Bisbal, who was the runner-up in 2002 to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest, has been nominted for two Latin Grammy awards.

David Bisbal participated in the first edition of Spain's Operacion Triunfo (OT), in 2002. The series' winner, Rosa, went on to represent her country in the Eurovision Song Contest in Tallinn. Bisbal, who was the runner-up in the pre-selection, accompanied her on stage, along with other OT's members.

Bisbal turned out to be one of Spain's most successful singers ever, and he has recently been nominted for two Latin Grammy awards: In the categories of best new artist and of best male pop vocal album (his album is called Corazon Latino, after his pre-selection entry). In the last category Bisbal will compete, among others, against Enrique Iglesias.

The Latin Grammy Awards ceremony will be held in New York, on September 3rd.
