The Netherlands: Plans for Eurovision 2012

The Dutch broadcaster TROS has announced on its Eurovision Song Contest website songfestival.nl that it will reveal its plans for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest on the 6th of July. Just a little more than a month and half after the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest many countries have started preparing for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest. Germany, Finland, Norway and Slovenia have already announced their plans for the 2012 Eurovision edition.

The Netherlands is one of the founder members of the Eurovision Song Contest having debuted at the very first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 and has won the contest 4 times (1957, 1959, 1969 and 1975). The Dutch have hosted the Eurovision SongContest on 4 occasions in 1958 in Hiliversum, in 1970 in Amsterdam, in 1976 and 1980 in The Hague.

There seems to be a huge interest for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in The Netherlands.The Dutch media has been reporting that many acclaimed Dutch artists are interested in representing Netherlands at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest scheduled to be held in Azerbaijan on the 22nd, 24th and 26th of May next year.

TROS, the Dutch broadcaster will be making an official announcement regarding the Dutch plans for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest.
