Switzerland has confirmed its participation in the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Azerbaijan. A national final will be held on December 10th. The format will be similar to this year's competition, with regional broadcasters presenting a number of songs each.

Switzerland will participate in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku. The format of their preselection remains almost the same as this year – regional broadcasters SF, RTS, RSI and DRS will present a number of songs to the national final, scheduled to be held on December 10th. The winner and 2012 Swiss representative will be selected via televoting alone.

The songs entering the competition will be available to listen to online on the internet from September 1st. The users will be able to cast their votes in order to narrow down the list to a yet unknown number of entries.

Anna Rossinelli represented Switzerland in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest with the song In love for a while. Despite qualifying from the semifinals, Anna came last in the final held yesterday.
