TVE, the Spanish national broadcaster, has announced that it will be broadcasting both Eurovision semifinals. Both shows will be aired live on La 2 on the 10th and 12th of May respectively at 21:00 CET. The Eurovision final will be broadcast live on TVE 1. The Spanish viewers will be able to vote for their favourite song during Semifinal 1.

Spain is one of the BIG 5 countries along with Italy, Germany, United Kingdom and France who qualify directly to the Eurovision final, without competing in the semifinals. All BIG 5 countries are obliged to broadcast 1 of the 2semifinals where their respective viewers are able to vote.

Spanish viewers will be able to watch all 3 Eurovision shows live. Spanish well known television presenter Jose Maria Iñigo has been chosen to be the commentator for both the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest semfinals and final. TVE will broadcast both semifinals on TVE 2 (La 2), and the final on TVE1 (La 1). It is most likely that the 3 shows will be broadcast live on TVE International Europe (via satellite) and on TVE International America, Asia and Africa on recorded format.
