Zlata Ognevich decided to withdraw from the Ukrainian super final. Unlike Jamala, she published an official statement on her website through which she thanked NTU for the transparent and fair selection. Mika Newton will represent Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Just like Jamala, Zlata Ognevich decided to withdraw from the Ukrainian super final that was supposed to take place on March 3rd. According to her official website, this decision was taken due to the fact that she will participate in a Ukrainian TV show during this month.
Although a new Ukrainian final was announced by their national television and was set for March 3rd, two of the line-up's acts withdrew from the competition in favour of original winner Mika Newton. She won the Ukrainian national final which took place on February 26th in Kyiv with her song Angels.
Mika Newton will represent Ukraine at this year's Eurovision Song Contest but it is stil unknown what song she will perform in the second semi final of the contest.
