Austrian artist and Eurovision 2014 winner Conchita Wurst has released the song Für mich soll’s rote Rosen regnen (It should rain red roses for me), prior to the release of her new album From Vienna With Love, a collaboration with the Wiener Symphoniker orchestra.
Conchita has released one of her favourite songs from the upcoming album From Vienna With Love, which was recorded with the Viennese orchestra Wiener Symphoniker: Für mich soll’s rote Rosen regnen (It should rain red roses for me). It’s a cover of a song by the legendary German chanteuse and actress Hildegard Knef (1925-2002), who was known for her low, dusty voice.
The song tells about someone looking back on their life, at what they expected and wanted, searching for wonder, love and luck. When life goes on, expectations might not have been met, but still the wish remains: it should rain red roses.
Conchita shared her love for the song on Facebook, stating that the song has become one of her favourites from the upcoming album:

Conchita Wurst, enigmatic character of drag artist Thomas Neuwirth, represented Austria at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, Denmark. With the powerful ballad Rise like a phoenix, Conchita won semi-final 2 and eventually won the contest during the Grand Final with 290 points.
