Austria sends Nadine to Düsseldorf

Nadine Beiler will represent Austria in the next Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Düsseldorf, Germany. Ten acts competed in Düsseldorf wir kommen (Austrian national final) and three songs advanced to the super-final before announcing the winner.

Nadine who is from Tirol will sing the song The secret is love in Düsseldorf. Four years ago the singer came third in the Starmania show which is equivalent in of American idol. Nadine advanced to the super-final along with Klimmstein feat. Joe Sumner(third place) and Trackshittaz/Lukas Plöchl (2nd place).

In the end the public selected Nadine as the winner of the national selection. The show was hosted by Mirjam Weichselbraun, Robert Kratky and Andi Knoll. The Austrian broadcaster ORF presented a high level production show although a technical problem permitted the first act (Band WG) to re-perform on stage before the super-final.

Austria has returned to the Eurovision Song Contest after three years of absence. Their latest entry was Get a life – Get alive by Eric Papilaya, which didn't qualify for the final of the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest that took place in Helsinki. Nadine Beiler will represent Austria in the second semi-final on 12th May.
